Apple and lender Goldman Sachs are allowing Apple Card customers to defer their payments for April without incurring interest. The duo offered a similar payment deferral program in March, which is designed to ease financial pressure from the economic disruption caused by the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic.
Bloomberg reports that Apple Card users need to opt-in to the program by messaging a support representative via the Wallet app on an Apple device.
Apple is informing Apple Card customers about the option through email.
We understand that the Covid-19 situation poses unique challenges for everyone and some customers may have difficulty making their monthly payments. Apple Card is committed to helping you lead a healthier financial life.
If you previously enrolled in the Customer Assistance Program in March, you will need to enroll again.
While the balances will eventually need to be paid, the deferred payments with no interest will help provide some relief to the economic pressures brought about by the layoffs caused by the pandemic.
