Facebook Rolls Out ‘Catchup’ Audio Calling App

Facebook has rolled out a new app that is designed to help U.S.-based friends and families to set up person-to-person or group calls with up to eight participants.

“Catchup” was designed by Facebook’s internal R&D group, and offers audio-only calls, displaying a user’s status to indicate whether or not they’re available to talk.

Catching up has never been this easy. See who’s available and effortlessly join one-on-one and group calls. Never play phone tag or make an appointment to call someone again. Keep in touch more, think about it less. Any time you’re free to talk, CatchUp!

Features:

• Set your status to let people know when you’re ready to talk, and see when your friends on CatchUp are available!

• Privacy settings give you to control over who can join your 1-on-1 and calls

• Create and join groups of friends, family, and mutual contacts

• Auto-availability automatically updates your status when you’re connected to bluetooth

CatchUp doesn’t require a Facebook account to use it and works with your phone’s contacts list. Privacy settings in the app allow users to control who can join 1-on-1 and group calls.

The Catchup app is available for the iPhone, free in the App Store. [GET IT HERE]
