‘unc0ver’ Jailbreaking Tool for iOS 13.5 Devices May be Close to Release

‘unc0ver’ Jailbreaking Tool for iOS 13.5 Devices May be Close to Release

The hacker team behind the “unc0ver” jailbreaking tool for iOS has announced that a new version of its software that can patch “every signed iOS version on every device” is on the way. The new version uses a zero-day kernel vulnerability by Pwn20wnd, a renowned iOS hacker.

We are going to release #unc0ver 5.0.0 with support for every signed iOS version on every device using a 0day kernel vulnerability from @Pwn20wnd in sponsorship with phonerebel.com very soon. Update your devices to 13.5 and follow our progress on unc0ver.dev.

If the team’s claims prove to be true, users of Apple’s iOS devices, even the latest iPhone 11, iPhone SE, and 2020 iPad Pro devices, will be able to jailbreak their devices, even if they’re running yesterday’s iOS 13.5 release.

The new jailbreak would be big news, second only to last year’s surprise announcement of “checkm8,” an exploit found on nearly every chip made by Apple, which enabled a permanent, non-patchable jailbreak on hundreds of millions of affected iOS devices.

The unc0ver team has not announced a specific date for the updated tool’s release but the team’s website says final stability tests are now being performed and are 90% complete.
