Apple Releases watchOS 6.2.8 to the Public – Adds CarKey Support, ECG Support to Bahrain, Brazil, and South Africa

Apple today released watchOS 6.2.8 to the public. The update, the 10th so far for the watchOS 6 Apple Watch operating system adds CarKey support and brings ECG support to 3 new countries.

The watchOS 6.2.8 release can be installed on an Apple Watch, via the Watch app on the device’s attached iPhone. Go to “General” -> “Software Update” to install the new software. The Watch should have at least 50% battery life, be connected to a charger, and be in the range of the iPhone.

Apple’s list of new features and improvements includes:

– Adds support for digital car keys for ‌Apple Watch‌ Series 5
– ECG app on ‌Apple Watch‌ Series 4 or later now available in Bahrain, Brazil, and South Africa
– Irregular heart rhythm notifications now available in Bahrain, Brazil, and South Africa
