Apple Seeds GM Beta of watchOS 6.2.8 to Developers

Apple today released the GM beta of watchOS 6.2.8 to developers for testing. The new beta comes a week and a half after the third beta.

The watchOS 6.2.8 beta can be installed on an Apple Watch with the proper configuration profile installed, via the Watch app on the device’s attached iPhone. Go to “General” -> “Software Update” to install the new software. The Watch should have at least 50% battery life, be connected to a charger, and be in the range of the iPhone.

No big new features have been as yet discovered in watchOS 6.2.8, but it is safe to say it adds performance enhancements and bug fixes, as well as adding support for Car Key, which allows an ‌Apple Watch‌ to be used instead of a physical key for compatible cars.

As usual, MacTrast and Apple both warn users to not install any betas on your daily driver Apple Watch, instead only install betas on a device set aside for testing purposes.
