Apple Donating to Beirut Relief Effort Following Deadly Explosion This Week

Apple CEO Tim Cook today tweeted to announce that Apple will be donating to the relief efforts in Beirut, following a horrific and deadly explosion there earlier this week. The money will go to relief organizations providing both immediate and long term support in the city.

On the evening of 4 August 2020, at 18:08 EEST, multiple explosions occurred in the city of Beirut, the capital of Lebanon. The blasts occurred at the Port of Beirut and left hundreds dead, more missing and thousands of people injured.

Apple routinely donates to relief efforts following disasters, both natural and otherwise.
