Apple’s $699 Mac Pro Wheels Too Rich for Your Blood? How About OWC’s $199 Conversion Kit

Apple has been ridiculed for its $699 add-on wheels kit for its Mac Pro. Now OWC has taken things into their own hands, offering a wheels kit for less than a third of the cost of Apple’s kit.

OWC’s Rover Pro wheels – which will be available in September – can be installed in under two minutes and require no special tools to install. They are screwed onto your Mac Pro’s factory feet and then tightened by hand.

The wheels can then be quickly removed once you’ve relocated your computer, or they can be kept on permanently and be kept in place by the Rover Pro Kit’s included wheel stops.

OWC’s wheels feature 360-degree articulation, non-marking soft rubber tread, and low friction bearings, and a highly polished stainless steel look to match the Mac Pro.

OWC’s Rover Pro kit is currently available for preorder for $199.They will ship sometime in September. Once the pre-order period is over, the price will rise to $249.99.
