Bloomberg’s Gurman: Apple Silicon Macs to Launch At a November Apple Event

Bloomberg’s Gurman: Apple Silicon Macs to Launch At a November Apple Event

Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman says Apple’s first Apple Silicon-powered Macs will debut at an Apple event to be held in November.

Gurman says that the first Mac laptop powered by Apple Silicon “among other products” will be launched next month. That jibes with a prediction by Ming-Chi Kuo from awhile back that the first ARM Mac would be a 13-inch MacBook Pro.

It would be unprecedented for Apple to hold three media events in the space of three months. However, it is 2020, and in today’s COVID-19 riddled world anything is possible. It is a bit easier for Apple to set up media events so close to each other since the events are all virtual, online-only shindigs.

Bloomberg reported earlier this year that the first Apple ARM chips will be 12-core processor designs based on the A14X design. The new Macs are expected to best their Intel equivalents in both power efficiency and performance.
