Leaker Prosser: Apple Will Unveil Apple SIlicon-Powered Macs at Nov. 17 Event

Well-known leaker Jon Prosser says Apple will unveil its first Apple Silicon-powered Macs at another digital event, to be held on November 17.

While Apple had said that it intends to debut the first Apple Silicon Mac this year, it hasn’t as yet revealed the exact date that will happen.  Prosser’s source tells him that the date for the unveiling will be November 17.

“You should see this confirmed with an announcement on Tuesday, November 10,” added Prosser in a follow-up tweet.

No one knows for sure what Mac model will be the first to be granted Apple Silicon, but Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman has said it will be a notebook model. Other rumors have suggested the new Mac will be anything from a new 13-inch MacBook Pro to a new MacBook Air, to a revived 12-inch MacBook.

Rumors also suggest the A14X chip will power the first Apple Silicon-based Mac. The new processors are said to have 12 cores, with eight high-performance cores and at least four energy-efficient cores. Apple is also said to be exploring offering Mac processors with more than 12 cores farther in the future.

Prosser has admittedly fared a bit hit and miss with his Apple leaks, so keep your salt shakers at the ready for that proverbial grain of salt. We’ll keep you posted.
