Apple today seeded the first beta of macOS Big Sur 11.1 to developers for testing purposes. The new beta comes five days after the launch of macOS Big Sur 11.0.1, the release version of the software.
The new developer build can be downloaded through the Apple Developer Center and once the correct profile is installed, succeeding betas will be available through the Software Update mechanism in System Preferences.
There’s no word yet on what’s new or fixed in macOS Big Sur 11.1, but it likely includes the usual bug, fixes, performance improvements, security updates, and such that weren’t addressed in the release version of macOS Big Sur.
As usual, MacTrast and Apple both warn users to not install any betas on your daily driver Mac, instead only install betas on a Mac set aside for testing purposes.
