Deadline reports Oscar-winning actor Christopher Walken has joined the cast of the upcoming Apple TV+ thriller series “Severance.”
Walken will star alongside Patricia Arquette and Adam Scott. Other actors that will appear in the series include Tramell Tillman, Jen Tullock, Zach Cherry, Britt Lower, and John Turturro.
Severance is a workplace thriller that takes place at Lumen Industries, a company that’s looking to take work-life balance to a new level with a “severance procedure,” which separates work and out-of-work memories.
Scott stars as Mark, an employee with a dark past trying to put himself back together. Walken will play Burt, the department Head of Optics and Design at Lumen Industries. Arquette will play Mark’s boss.
The role reunites Walken with Turturro, with whom he starred in Turturro’s feature “The Jesus Rolls.”
Severance is a production from Endeavor Content, a company also producing current Apple TV+ shows “See” and “Truth Be Told.” The series is being directed and produced by Ben Stiller and was created by Dan Erickson.
No premiere date has been announced for the series, but Apple has placed a straight-to-series order for a 10 episode first season.
