Apple Releases Japanese New Year Ad Highlighting the App Store

Apple Releases Japanese New Year Ad Highlighting the App Store

Apple on Sunday released a new New Year themed ad in Japan featuring the App Store. The short 15-second video, first noticed by MacRumors, highlights various apps that can be installed from the App Store.

From the video page (via Google Translate):

I want to grow more. I want to connect with everyone more. I want to have more fun. Let’s start everyone’s “this year” in the App Store.

The ad promotes a good start in 2021 and features colorful animations. New Year or “Shōgatsu” is the most important holiday celebrated in Japan and is observed on January 1-3.

Apple traditionally celebrates the New Year in Japan with a one-day new Year’s shopping event in the country. The company usually offers Apple gift cards with the purchase of select Apple products, but it has not yet announced an event for the new year.
