Apple Once Again Extends Apple TV+ Free Trials – Free Access Extended to July

Apple has once again extended the free trial of Apple TV+ beyond the original 1-year free trials given out with hardware purchases. The latest extension means anyone with an Apple TV+ trial subscription that was set to expire from now through June will instead have the service for free through July 2021.

The first Apple TV+ trial subscription extension was announced back in October, extending the first wave of free trial renewals out to February 2021. The new extension means users with a subscription will have access to the service for another six months.

Apple will contact all eligible Apple TV+ subscribers via email over the next few weeks. The company will also be compensating paying customers, who will receive a $4.99 store credit for the February to June period, to offset the cost of their subscription. This also applies to those who currently pay for the Apple One bundle subscription.

The second round of extensions allows Apple more time to expand its Apple TV+ offerings, to increase the value of the service. Content production has been delayed due to the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic.
