Apple Has Pulled iCloud for Windows Version 12 From Microsoft Store

User reports indicate Apple has pulled iCloud for Windows version 12 from the Microsoft Store. That version offered support for the iCloud‌ Passwords Chrome extension Apple released on Monday.

The 8-Bit reports that the version of ‌iCloud‌ currently available on the Microsoft App Store is 11.6.32.0, a downgrade from version 12, which was available yesterday. However, the description for the ‌iCloud‌ app still mentions support for the ‌iCloud‌ Passwords extension.

While Apple hasn’t announced the pulling of version 12 or explained why it has been pulled, numerous users have reported issues with the Chrome extension, including issues with two-factor authentication on websites. Some report the browser extension doesn’t work at all.

Apple’s iCloud password extension for Google Chrome on Windows 10 was designed to allow users to access passwords in Chrome that had been originally generated in the Safari browser. It also syncs passwords generated in Chrome, making them available on Apple devices.
