New Paramount+ Streaming Service to Cost $4.99 Per Month With Ads or $9.99 Without Ads

The rebranded CBS All Access streaming service, which will be carrying the Paramount+ moniker as of March 4, will cost $4.99 per month with ads or $9.99 per month without ads and additional sports, news, and live TV content.

TechCrunch reports that the service’s pricing tiers were announced by ViacomCBS executives during a virtual investor event held on Thursday. The service will be available in the U.S., Latin America, and Canada as of March 4, a Nordic launch will take place a few weeks later, and an Australian launch will take place later this year.

When the new service launches on March 4, the Paramount+ app will not be available to second and third-generation Apple TV devices. It will be available on fourth and fifth-gen Apple TV boxes. Third-generation ‌‌Apple TV‌‌ owners will able to AirPlay the service to their older set-top box from their iPhone or iPad.

Paramount+ will offer a combination of live news, live sports, and original entertainment delivered in 4K, HDR and Dolby Vision. The service is expected to offer more than 30,000 TV show episodes and 2,500 movies, including new content such as a “Frasier” reboot and a “Halo” show due to premiere on the service in early 2022. A variety of Paramount properties are being rebooted on the service, including “Love Story,” “Fatal Attraction” and “Flashdance.”

New Star Trek content will also make the scene, including existing shows like “Discovery” and “Picard.” New series will also appear, like “Strange New Worlds” and an animated kids series called “Prodigy.”
