At Least One Lucky New M1 iPad Pro Buyer Has Already Received Their New Tablet

It’s days to go before the official deliveries of the 12.9-inch M1 iPad Pro finally begin. However, at least one pre-ordering customer already has the new tablet in their hot little hands.

MacRumors:

Posted on Reddit, u/PeterDragon50 has already received their 12.9-inch ‌iPad Pro‌ through retailer Nebraska Furniture Mart. The Reddit user says they placed their order when pre-orders initially went live and that the retail chain informed them that their iPad was ready for pick-up, despite not yet having been officially launched from Apple. Apple says the new ‌iPad Pro‌ and ‌M1‌ iMac will be available starting in the second half of May, most likely May 21.

While official reviews of the M1 iPad Pro have yet to be published, potential users of the new M1 model are anxious for any kind of first thought or impressions of the new device. “PeterDragon50” says the tablet’s new mini-LED-powered Liquid Retina XDR display is quite impressive, thanks to its deep blacks, along with colors that are “definitely up to Apple quality.”

Two videos (second one) were shared on Youtube, showing the 12.9-inch ‌iPad Pro‌ playing back HDR content. In addition, Antutu benchmarking scores were posted, showing that the new ‌iPad Pro‌ performs significantly faster than last year’s model. Last week, we saw Geekbench benchmarking results that showed the M1 iPad Pro performed 50% faster than last year’s model.

We’ve seen reports of pre-order customers seeing their iPad Pro orders made on April 30, switching from “Preparing to Ship” to “Shipping.”
