Apple ‘Memojifies’ Its Executive Leadership Page Just Ahead of WWDC21

Just ahead of WWDC21, Apple has “Memojified” its official leadership site, to now display Memojis for all the key executives listed on the page. Similar avatars are also showing up on Apple executives’ social media accounts.

The move comes just ahead of today’s WWDC21 keynote address, where the company will debut new versions of its operating systems. iOS 15, which will be unveiled today, is expected to feature major updates to the Messages app.

While Apple made a similar move back in 2018 to celebrate World Emoji Day, when executives’ heads were replaced, leaving the real shoulders in place. This time around, the photos have been replaced completely with disembodied heads against dark backgrounds. This likely represents the wider use of more advanced Memoji technology in WWDC 2021 promotional material.

WWDC21 kicks off at 10 am PT with the unveiling of exciting new updates coming to all Apple platforms later this year. Streamed directly from Apple Park, the keynote address will be available via apple.com, the Apple Developer app, the Apple TV app, and YouTube, with on-demand playback available after the conclusion of the stream.
