iOS 14.7 Beta 2 Reportedly Causing ‘SIM Failure’ on Developers’ iPhones

iOS 14.7 Beta 2 Reportedly Causing ‘SIM Failure’ on Developers’ iPhones

Apple’s new iOS 14.7 beta 2 is reportedly leaving developers’ iPhones unable to make or receive calls. Developers report seeing “SIM Failure” errors after installing the new beta.

Soon after yesterday’s release of iOS 14.7 beta 2, multiple reports appeared indicating that the update is causing problems with devices. It isn’t know how widespread the issue is, and Apple has not yet commented on the situation. Multiple Twitter users are confirming the problem.

As mentioned by AppleInsider, the issue may be chiefly affecting developers that use an eSIM in their iPhones in place of a physical SIM card. However, that has not been confirmed.

Until a fix has been issued for iOS 14.7 beta 2, developers are advised to not download the new release. The issue is only in developer beta 2, the earlier public beta is not affected.

The issue was first reported by 9to5mac.
