Apple’s former design chief, Jony Ive has poached at least four Apple designers, luring them to his LoveForm design firm.
Ive’s latest catch is Wan Si, a designer who spent 16 years with Apple working on Apple app icons, buttons, and home screens.
A source told The Information that Wan Si has joined three other former employees, including Chris Wilson, Patch Kessler, and Jeff Tiller. Wan and Wilson were previously part of Apple’s human interface team, dedicated to creating GUI elements such as icons and menus.
Tiller was an Apple communications expert that managed administrative matters for Apple’s design team. Kessler spent ten years at Apple in product design and worked on the Force Touch trackpad for the company’s MacBook.
All four former Apple employees now show LoveFrom as their current employer on their LinkedIn profiles.
Ive walked out of Apple’s doors in 2019, after spending nearly three decades at the Cupertino technology maker. Ive had a hand in the design of numerous huge projects, including the iPhone, iPod, iMac, and more. He also had a hand in designing Apple Park, Apple’s main headquarters in northern California.
In July 2019, it was reported that Ive was leaving Apple, after years of dissatisfaction with Apple’s focus on operations more than design. Near the end, Ive reportedly failed to attend his own design meetings.
