Leaker Dylandkt: Larger Redesigned High-End iMac to Debut in 2022

The leaker known as “Dylandkt” claims Apple’s larger and redesigned “high-end” iMac will likely arrive sometime during 2022, rather than later this year.

Dylandkt tweeted a claim that “the high-end iMac” will not debut alongside Apple’s “M1X Macs” expected to see a fourth quarter of 2021 release. The leaker says it is because “Apple simply does not want their devices to compete for attention and delays in product releases have led to this timetable.”

Reputable Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman has said he also expects the larger redesigned ‌iMac‌ to feature an M1X or M2X chip, but Gurman has stopped short of offering launch date details.

Apple is widely known to be developing a larger version of the iMac, but paused work on the larger version to launch a 24-inch iMac model earlier this year.

A new larger ‌‌iMac‌‌ would likely copy several of the changes that we saw in the latest 24-inch model, including a thinner overall design, studio-quality microphones, and Apple silicon processors replacing Intel processors.

Dylandkt has been correct in previous predictions, such as that the next-generation iPad Pro would feature an ‌M1‌ chip, five months before the device debuted. He also correctly predicted that the new ‌‌iMac‌‌ would be a replacement for the smaller entry-level ‌‌iMac‌‌ only and feature an ‌‌M1‌‌ chip rather than an M1X.
