Ming-Chi Kuo: AirPods Pro 2 With New Design and Upgraded Chip to Hit Shelves in Late 2022

Well-connected Apple industry analyst Ming-Chi Kuo says Apple will launch its second-generation AirPods Pro sometime in the fourth quarter of 2022.

In a note shared today by MacRumors, Kuo said that the second generation of the ‌AirPods Pro‌ will launch in the last quarter of 2022. While we’ve seen reports that have suggested a launch next year a specific timeframe has up to now not been revealed.

AirPods Pro‌ 2 is rumored to feature a new design that does away with the short stem that comes out of the bottom for a design similar to the Beats Fit Pro.

The ‌second-generation AirPods Pro‌ is also rumored to use built-in sensors to add fitness tracking capabilities, along with a new chip that improves connectivity with devices. Apple’s AirPods Pro has not been updated since its 2019 debut, meaning it’s about time for a new version of the popular truly-wireless earbuds.
