Developers Attending Apple Park WWDC Viewing Event Face Stricter COVID Prevention Measures

Developers that are attending the June 6 WWDC 2022 viewing event at Apple Park in Cupertino, California will be faced with stricter COVID prevention restrictions that Apple has recently put in place.

In emails sent on Tuesday, Apple told developers that they will be required to wear N95 masks while indoors, and they must show a negative FDA-approved COVID antigen test from the day before. Attendees will be required to upload their negative test results to Apple before the event.

The restrictions have been put in place due to guidelines that were updated due to an increasing number of COVID tests in California and other states.

Some observers had believed that Apple might cancel the event, as the company recently delayed plans for employees’ return to the office three days a week, due to the rising COVID cases. However, it appears that Apple has opted to rely on tighter restrictions.
