Apple has released watchOS 8.6, an update to the watchOS 8 operating system for the Apple Watch. The new update comes two months after the watchOS 8.5 update.
According to Apple’s release notes, watchOS 8.6 expands ECG functionality and irregular heart rhythm detection to Mexico.
watchOS 8.6 can be downloaded for free through the dedicated Apple Watch app on the iPhone by going to “General” -> “Software Update.” The Apple Watch needs to have at least 50% battery charge, needs to be on a charger, and needs to be in the range of the iPhone.
The watchOS 8.6 update is compatible with the Apple Watch Series 3 and later.
