Apple Supplier Begin Shipping iPhone 14 Components Ahead of Expected September Launch

DigiTimes reports that Apple’s suppliers have begun sending component shipments for the upcoming iPhone 14 lineup, which is expected to launch in September, as is traditional.

“Component suppliers have kicked off their shipments for the next-generation iPhone series slated for launch in September, according to industry sources,” wrote DigiTimes, in a paywalled preview of a report that should be published in full by tomorrow. (Shared by MacRumors)

As you might expect, there are plenty of rumors circling the rumor bowl about the upcoming iPhone 14 lineup. The iPhone 14 Pro is rumored to feature a new pill-shaped cutout and hole in place of the notch that usually holds the front camera and Face ID sensors. The new Pro models are expected to be powered by a faster A16 chip and are said to boast a 48-megapixel back-facing camera that offers 8K video recording. An always-on display is also expected.

Standard models in the iPhone 14 lineup are expected to retain the A15 chip and sport a 12-megapixel lens.

Despite rumors of possible component delays, the iPhone 14 lineup is expected to debut in September, as is traditional. The only time the iPhone has not been unveiled in September over the last 10 years was 2020, when the iPhone 12 lineup unveiling was delayed due to pandemic-related issues.
