Popular Apple TV+ Series ‘For All Mankind’ Gets Fourth Season Renewal

Apple has announced the renewal of the popular Apple TV+ space drama “For All Mankind” for a fourth season. The series debuted alongside the ‌Apple TV+‌ streaming service in November 2019, making it one of the longest-running ‌Apple TV+‌ shows.

The news was announced during the show’s panel at San Diego Comic-Con, featuring series stars Joel Kinnaman, Shantel VanSanten, Jodi Balfour, Sonya Walger, Krys Marshall, Cynthy Wu, Casey Johnson, Coral Peña, Wrenn Schmidt, and Edi Gathegi, along with executive producers Moore, Nedivi, Wolpert and Maril Davis.

The series, created by Ronald D. Moore, is set in an alternate universe, where the Russians landed a cosmonaut on the moon before the United States put an astronaut there. The show illustrates what might have happened had the space race remained a priority for the U.S. and Russia. The first season showed the U.S. space program as it attempted to catch up with the Russians, while the second season jumped a full decade, picking things up in 1983 at the height of the cold war when the U.S. and the USSR are battling over resources available on the moon.

The second season jumped forward a decade, to the early 80s. Season three included another time jump, this time to the early 90s when the US and the Soviet Union are racing to be the first on Mars. Season four will likely make another jump.

Apple TV+ is available on the Apple TV app in over 100 countries and regions, on over 1 billion screens, including iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, Mac, popular smart TVs from Samsung, LG, Sony, VIZIO, TCL and others, Roku and Amazon Fire TV devices, Chromecast with Google TV, PlayStation and Xbox gaming consoles, and at tv.apple.com, for $4.99 per month with a seven-day free trial.
