Apple Updates Shazam App for Mac, Gets Native M1/M2 Support and Refreshed Icon

Apple today updated its Shazam music recognition app for the Mac, bringing native support for M1 and M2 Macs, as well as a refreshed icon to bring it in line with the look of macOS Monterey. The update is the first for the app in two years.

The Shazam app for Mac is now a Universal Binary, running natively on both Intel Macs and on those powered by Apple Silicon.

The update adds an icon to the Mac menu bar that can be quickly clicked to identify a song that is playing. The Shazam functionality is also built into Siri, allowing Mac users to access Shazam without having to install an app.

The Shazam app for Mac is free and is available in the Mac App Store.
