iPhone 14 Screen Cutout Could Serve as Microphone and Camera Usage Indicator

As we reported earlier this afternoon, the iPhone 14 front screen will include two cutouts will look like “one wide pill-shaped cutout.”  Now comes news that Apple will use the cutout to hold the iPhone’s microphone and camera privacy “dots” to alert users when an app accesses either the microphone or camera.

When activated, the dots may likely be located in the otherwise unused display area between the FaceTime dot projector and the front camera.

The orange and green dots alert users when the microphone and/or camera are in use by an app.

Apple is expected to unveil the new iPhone 14 lineup, as well as the Apple Watch Series 8 lineup at its September 7 event.
