Apple Testing Song Lyrics on Apple Music Web Player Beta Website

Apple on Thursday updated its beta.music.apple.com website for Apple Music. The update brings support for viewing song lyrics on the website. Listeners on the beta site can now access an option to enable the viewing of lyrics by clicking on the speech bubble at the top right of the display.

The lyric interface boasts a design similar to that of the Apple Music app on iOS and Mac devices. The lyrics scroll in time with the music and appear on the right side of the screen. The lyrics feature is currently available only on the beta.music.apple.com Apple Music web player, but will likely roll out to the music.apple.com website sometime in the near future.

Apple’s web-based Apple Music player has been available since 2019 and allows Apple Music subscribers to listen to their favorite songs in their favorite browser. The site offers the same content as the Apple Music app on iOS, Mac, and other devices. It includes access to a listener’s library and playlist content, including recommendations and mixes.

The site allows anyone to access the web player to listen to short snippets of songs. Full access to the Apple Music library is limited to listeners with an Apple ID and an Apple Music subscription.
