Confirmed: Apple Testing iOS 16.4.1 for iPhone

Apple has been rumored to be testing iOS 16.4.1 and now MacRumors says it has independently confirmed that Apple is currently doing internal testing of the software update. No release date has yet been announced, but the update will likely hit iPhone handsets within a week or two.

As it is a minor update, iOS 16.4.1 will likely focus on bug fixes and/or security patches. One possible fix in the update may be a resolution to complaints by some users that they are occasionally forced to re-enter WIFi passwords, as well as various user interface glitches. Some users are still complaining of issues with the Weather app not displaying information, even though Apple’s system status page says that the issue is resolved.

Apple is also testing iOS 16.5. The first beta of iOS 16.5 was released last week and included a few changes, such as a Sports tab becoming available in the Apple News app and the ability to start a screen recording session via Siri.
