Google on Thursday shared several details on the several optimizations the search giant has made in the Mac version of its Chrome browser. Google says the optimizations have made the browser “faster than ever” on Apple’s Speedometer 2.1 browser benchmark.

Google implemented improved HTML parsing for select CSS and JavaScript functions, while adding more efficient pointer compression.
Google also optimized how pointers are compressed and decompressed, avoiding the compression of high-traffic fields. Frequently accessed objects like JavaScript’s “undefined” were moved to the beginning of memory bases, allowing them to be accessed using faster machine code.
