iOS 17 May Integrate Siri On-Screen Interface In Dynamic Island on Newer iPhones

Apple is considering whether to move Siri’s on-screen interface to the Dynamic Island on newer iPhones, says an anonymous source that has been tweeting details about possible new features coming in iOS 17.

Currently, when Siri is summoned, an animated ball of light appears at the bottom of the display. Details related to the Siri request are then displayed in a card at either the top or the bottom of the display, dimming the background content.

If Siri is integrated with Dynamic Island, we’ll likely see the Siri UI displayed there, while allowing the onscreen content to remain in full view.

The anonymous tipster says that Apple “may or may not go with the Dynamic Island version of Siri” that it is said to be presently testing. The leaker also says that “many more” notifications are also coming to the pill-shaped interface. Dynamic Island is expected to be a feature on all four iPhone 15 models this year. Currently, the feature is limited to the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max handsets.
