Kroger-Owned Harris Teeter Grocery Chain Now Accepting Apple Pay

The Kroger-owned Harris Teeter grocery store chain has announced that it has begun accepting Apple Pay and other contactless forms of payments in its 250 store locations in North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, Maryland, and other states.

Kroger recently began accepting Apple Pay at some of its self-named grocery locations in Kentucky and Ohio, as the grocery chain finally begins accepting Apple’s popular contactless payment method. The company will continue to offer its own service called Kroger Pay, which is a QR code-based checkout method to pay with a debit or credit card saved in the Kroger app.

Kroger was one of the largest Apple Pay holdouts in the U.S. since the service launched in 2014, alongside Walmart, The Home Depot, and Lowe’s. However, the grocery chain now accepts Apple Pay at some or all Kroger, Fred Meyer, Ralphs, QFC, King Soopers, and Harris Teeter locations across the country.
