iOS 17 Drops Support for iPhone 8 and iPhone X

iOS 17 Drops Support for iPhone 8 and iPhone X

Apple’s upcoming iOS 17 mobile operating system will require an iPhone XS or newer. Apple has not yet specified whether or not all features will be available on all compatible iPhone models. It’s likely that support will vary, meaning some features may only be available on more recent iPhone models.

iOS 17 drops the iPhone 8 and iPhone X from the compatibility list. The iPhone XS debuted in 2018, meaning any iPhone released during the last half-decade should work with the new version of iOS when it is released to the public this fall.
