DigiTimes Report Says MacBook Pro With 3nm Chip to Launch Later This Year

DigiTimes Report Says MacBook Pro With 3nm Chip to Launch Later This Year

A preview of an upcoming DigiTimes report shared on Monday says Apple is planning to release a new MacBook Pro model powered by an upgraded chip manufactured with TSMC’s advanced 3nm process in the third quarter of 2023.

“Apple’s next-generation MacBook Pro slated for launch in the third quarter will feature 3nm processors, according to industry sources,” the preview says.

The new MacBook Pro model referred to in the report is likely a new 13-inch MacBook Pro, powered by a next-generation M3 chip, which Apple has yet to formally announce. The M3 chip is widely expected to be fabricated using TSMC’s 3nm process, which should provide significant performance and power efficiency improvements over the 5nm-based M2 chip used in the existing 13-inch MacBook Pro.

Apple last updated the 13-inch MacBook Pro in June 2022, which is powered by the M2 chip, pricing starts at $1,299 in the United States.
