iOS 17 Beta Adds Two New British Siri Voices

Apple’s iOS 17 beta adds two new “British” voices for Siri, Apple’s virtual assistant for the iPhone. The new voices, which add a third and fourth option to the previously available two options, can be selected from the Settings app by going to ‌‌Siri‌‌ & Search and then selecting ‌‌Siri‌‌ Voice.

The two new “British” voices sound a bit more natural than the existing two. The two new voices are so far the only voices that have been added to iOS 17. It’s not clear when exactly the two new voices appeared in the beta, be it in the third beta or a previous one.

Siri also gains a few new abilities in iOS 17, including an option to say only “Siri” in place of the traditional “Hey Siri” summoning phrase. Siri can also now read web articles to you out loud, and users can now interrupt ‌‌Siri‌‌ and make back-to-back requests without summoning Siri for a second time.

What’s your favorite Siri voice? I prefer the female Australian voice, dunno why. It could be connected to watching “Skippy the Bush Kangaroo” when I was a child, not really sure.
