NBA Commissioner Hints Live Basketball Headed to Apple Vision Pro

When Apple unveiled its upcoming Apple Vision Pro augmented reality headset, it showed off an Apple Arcade NBA Basketball game for the device. Now, the head of the National Basketball Association is hinting that live basketball streams are coming to the headset.

The move should come as much of a surprise as Apple has previously shown the desire to partner up with the NBA, and it has been aggressive in adding sports content to its Apple TV+ streaming service, obtaining rights to MLB “Friday Night Baseball” and MLS Season Pass.

Now a report from the New York Post says NBC commissioner Adam Silver has basically confirmed the league’s plans to bring basketball to the Vision Pro. Speaking at this year’s Sun Valley Conference, Silver would only say that “We are working very closely with Apple.”

However, the publication says that in an exclusive chat with the publication, Silver indicated that Apple and the NBA were working together to reimagine the courtside experience for viewers.

The annual Sun Valley Conference is widely known as a “summer camp for billionaires,” and Apple CEO Tim Cook was present, as he has been in the past, as had Apple Senior Vice President of Services Eddie Cue.
