Apple Currently Has No $999 Pro Stand for Pro Display XDR In Stock

Apple’s optional Pro Stand for Apple’s high-end Pro Display XDR monitor is currently unavailable on Apple’s U.S. online store. 9to5Mac‘s Zac Hall says it’s not clear if or when the $999 stand will be back in stock, or if this indicates that Apple has a refresh to the Pro Display XDR in the works. The Pro Display XDR was released in December 2019.

While the stand is currently available on Apple’s online store in some other countries, such as the U.K. and Canada, buyers face a 2-3 week or longer shipping estimate.

The Pro Display XDR will also take an extended amount of time to be delivered in the U.S. Apple currently says delivery will happen in late September.

Considering that the delayed display shipping estimate targets a timeframe after Apple’s September media event, might Apple be planning to unveil a new Pro Display either during that event or at an October Mac event?

In December 2022, Bloomberg‘s Mark Gurman said that Apple is working on multiple new external monitors, including a new version of the Pro Display XDR. Gurman said the new monitors will be powered by Apple Silicon (the Studio Display is powered by an A13 Bionic chip).

The nearly four-year-old monitor features a 32-inch screen with 6K resolution and starts at $4,999 without the Pro Stand.
