Apple Now Able to Repair Bottom Mic on iPhone 15 and 15 Plus

Apple Stores and Apple Authorized Service Providers are now capable of individually repairing the bottom-right microphone on the lower-end iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus, according to a report from MacRumors.

Apple’s new procedure no longer requires replacing the entire mid-frame chassis, which should make this repair cheaper for customers. It should also be less wasteful.

Unfortunately for iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max owners, repairing the mic still requires the mid-frame chassis replacement. As for repairs of the other microphones on iPhones, including the mics next to the earpiece and rear camera, also still require a mid-frame replacement.
