Apple Industry analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has tweeted (X’ed?) about the status of Apple’s work on its much-rumored Apple Car, saying the project has “lost all visibility.”
The development of the Apple Car seems to have lost all visibility at the moment. If Apple doesn’t adopt an acquisition strategy to enter the automotive market, I doubt that the Apple Car can go into mass production within the next years.
We’ve seen very little in the way of Apple Car rumors in 2023, so we have little knowledge about what might be coming down the pipe in connection with the rumored vehicle. The last Apple Car news we published this year was posted back in July when we reported about the Cupertino firm’s expansion of its driver team for the project.
Many observers have expected Apple to begin testing its vehicle in 2025, with the vehicle becoming available to the public as early as 2026. However, with just a few months to go until we enter 2024, that timeline seems overly optimistic.
Apple is focusing on other products at this time, with the upcoming Apple Vision Pro appearing to be the main focus of Apple’s development teams.
Apple has not yet put a deal in place with an Apple Car manufacturing partner, so the idea that we won’t see an Apple Car anytime in the next few years seems like a safe bet.
