New Firmware for AirPods Pro 2 Now Available

Apple today released new firmware for the AirPods Pro 2 with Lightning port, as well as the ‌AirPods Pro‌ 2 with USB-C port. The new firmware is version 6B32, up from the 6A305 firmware released in October.

While Apple does not offer immediately available release notes on what’s included in refreshed firmware updates for the AirPods‌ Pro 2, the company’s support document includes release information.

There isn’t any way to manually update the firmware of the earbuds, and the new software will be installed over the air while the AirPods Pro 2 are connected via Bluetooth to an iOS device.

If you place the AirPods Pro 2 in their case, connect them to a power source, and then pair them to an iPhone or iPad, they should update after a short period of time.

How to Check Your AirPods Pro 2 Firmware

Here’s how to check the firmware version of your AirPods Pro earbuds:

  1. Make sure your AirPods are connected to your iPhone or iPad.
  2. Launch the Settings app on your iPhone or ‌iPad‌.
  3. Tap “General.”
  4. Tap “About.”
  5. Scroll down to ‌“AirPods,” and tap that.
  6. Read the number next to “Firmware Version.”
