You Can Now Pay for Your Lowe’s Retail Store Purchases Using Apple Pay

You can finally use Apple Pay to pay for your purchase at Lowe’s home improvement stores across the United States. While Lowe’s has accepted Apple Pay in the Lowe’s app and on the Lowe’s website, the company has held out until now when it comes to its physical retail locations.

Lowe’s employees posted on Reddit in late December that the company had sent out a memo about the ‌Apple Pay‌ and contactless payment rollout, which was set to begin on December 20.

Meanwhile, a Lowe’s customer on the MacRumors forums said that he was able to use Apple Pay at two different Lowe’s stores in Texas.

The Lowe’s employees on Reddit report that they were constantly hearing gripes from a number of customers who wanted to use contactless payment options. Numerous Lowe’s customers have also complained about the lack of ‌Apple Pay‌ on Reddit and other forums.

Lowe’s is the second largest home improvement store in the U.S. after Home Depot. Accepting ‌Apple Pay‌ could cause many customers to make the move to Lowe’s, as Home Depot still does not accept Apple’s contactless payment technology. It should be noted that as a test, I tried adding my Lowe’s credit card to Apple Pay, and it did not accept it, so you cannot as yet use your Lowe’s card with Apple Pay.
