As promised earlier this month, Apple Music Classical is now available in China, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macao.
Apple Music Classical first launched in most other countries in March 2023. The service offers a simple interface for engaging with more than five million classical works. Users can search recordings by composer, work, conductor, or catalog number. Music can be streamed in high-quality audio of up to 192 kHz/24-bit Hi-Res Lossless. Thousands of recordings are available in Apple’s immersive spatial audio.
Apple commissioned high-resolution digital portraits of famous composers like Ludwig van Beethoven, Frédéric Chopin, and Johann Sebastian Bach for the app, with more artwork to be added over time. Apple has been working with classical music artists and institutions to offer exclusive content and recordings.
The app is available on the iPhone, iPad, and Android devices. It is built upon Primephonic, a classical music streaming service acquired by Apple in 2021.
Apple Music Classical is included as a part of an Apple Music subscription. In the U.S., a standard Apple Music subscription costs $10.99 per month.
