Apple’s Bay Street Store Reopening Next Week Following Four-Month Renovation

Apple will reopen its Bay Street retail store in Emeryville, California on Monday, January 8 at 10 a.m. local (Pacific) time. The store has been closed for renovations since early September 2023.

Weekly newsletter Tabletops reports that it is currently unknown if the store will have any retail floor changes when it reopens, or if the renovations are limited to the backroom area.

The store originally opened in 2002 at a different location, becoming Apple’s 50th retail location in the U.S. The store moved to its current location on Bay Street in 2016.

As noted by MacRumors, Tabletops publisher Michael Steeber recently released a major update for his Facades iOS app. The update, version 2.0, brings the following new features:

• Timeline: Explore the history and grand opening of any store.

• Visit receipts: Track multiple store visits and share custom visit receipts.

• Custom lists: Create and share store lists that sync with iCloud.

• Search filters: Build advanced search filters on the main store list.

• Shortcuts: Find nearby stores and search with the Action button on iPhone 15 Pro.

• Updated design with an all-new Browse tab and Split View layout on iPad.

• Learn about store features in the Glossary.

• Choose a home store and home region for quick access in the Browse tab.

• Share an image with store details from any store page.

• Share a summary of your store visits and export a CSV list.

• View any store list on a map.

• Global Map includes realistic elevation and satellite views.

• View supported stores in Maps Look Around.

The app is available for free on the App Store for the iPhone, iPad, and Mac and is well worth a look.
