New Beta Firmware for AirPods Pro 2 Earbuds Available to Developers

Apple on Thursday released new beta firmware for its second-generation AirPods Pro. The new firmware is version 6E188, up from the prior 6B34 firmware released in December. Please note that this software is limited to developers at the current time.

There isn’t any way to manually update the firmware of the earbuds, and the new software will be installed over the air while the AirPods 2 are connected via Bluetooth to an iOS device.

If you place the AirPods in their case, connect them to a power source, and then pair them to an iPhone or iPad, they should update after a short time.
