Apple today released visionOS 1.0.3, an update for its Vision Pro headset’s operating system. The release marks the first update released since the device launched. While Apple did release a visionOS 1.0.2 update, it was released before the Vision Pro hit stores.
The new visionOS update can be installed by opening the settings app and going to the software update section.
The release of visionOS 1.0.3 brings a new option to reset the Vision Pro headset if the passcode set on the device has been forgotten. It also includes unspecified bug fixes.

This update provides important bug fixes and adds an option to reset your device if you’ve forgotten your passcode.
The Vision Pro requests a six-digit passcode during setup, requiring it to be entered twice. Customers can also opt to use a shorter or a longer passcode, much like they can on an iPhone or iPad. While Optic ID can be used to unlock the device in place of a passcode, the passcode is still required after a restart or in certain other situations.
Customers who forgot their Vision Pro passcode were previously required to visit an Apple Store to get it reset or ship it to Apple if the user didn’t have a nearby store. Like Apple’s other devices, the incorrect passcode can only be entered a certain number of times before the device is locked. Removing the passcode required a total reset of the Vision Pro until today’s update.
