Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo: Apple Planning to Release 20-Inch MacBook w/ Foldable Screen

Apple has plans to release a 20-inch MacBook with a foldable screen in three years or so, according to Apple industry analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.

“Apple’s only foldable product with a clear development schedule is the 20.3-inch MacBook, expected to enter mass production in 2027,” said Kuo, in a post on X today.

Recently, I’ve received many inquiries about whether Apple plans to mass-produce the foldable iPhone or iPad in 2025 or 2026. My latest survey indicates that currently, Apple’s only foldable product with a clear development schedule is the 20.3-inch MacBook, expected to enter mass production in 2027.

Kuo did not provide any additional details about the device.

The analyst is the third source to mention the possibility of a 20-inch MacBook. Display industry analyst Ross Young and Korean website The Elec have also said a MacBook with a foldable screen.

The new foldable MacBook would have a screen that measures around 20 inches diagonally when fully expanded, but Kuo did not offer up any details about the device’s exact design.

Kuo said Apple’s only foldable product with a clear development schedule is the 20.3-inch MacBook, which. he expects to enter mass production in 2027. This indicates that a foldable iPhone or iPad isn’t in Apple’s immediate plans.
