Bloomberg’s Gurman: New iPads Likely to Launch During Second Week of May

Bloomberg‘s Mark Gurman says he expects Apple to launch new iPad Pro and iPad Air models during the second week of May.

“For those looking for more specific timing, I’m told the launch will probably happen the week of May 6,” said Gurman, in his Power On newsletter on Sunday. “Another data point to that end: Apple retail stores are preparing to receive new product marketing materials later that week. That’s typically a sign that a new product release is incoming.”

We’re expecting to see several new and updated features when the new iPad Pros debut, including an M3 chip, a thinner profile, a landscape front camera, a revamped rear camera, and possibly MagSafe charging. A revamped Magic Keyboard and an updated Apple Pencil are expected to debut alongside the new iPad Pro models.

Apple’s new iPad Air models are expected to be powered by Apple’s M2 chip, a landscape front camera, and a first-ever model with a 12.9-inch display.

The iPad Pro and iPad Air were last updated in October 2022 and March 2022, respectively.
