Display Expert Young: iPhone 17 Plus Screen to be Smaller Than iPhone 15 Plus Screen

Display industry expert Ross Young on Wednesday posted on X, saying that he’s been told that the “iPhone 17 Plus” will sport a slightly smaller screen than the 6.7-inch display used on the current iPhone 15 Plus. Unfortunately, Young did not reveal the exact screen size for the Plus version of the 2025 iPhone 17.

Currently, the iPhone 15 Plus screen size is the same as the iPhone 15 Pro Max. If Young’s comments come to pass, Apple may do it simply to help further differentiate the iPhone 17 Plus from the iPhone 17 Pro Max model.

We’ve seen rumors saying Apple will use larger 6.3 and 6.9-inch display sizes for the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max this year. (The iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus models will continue to sport screens sized at 6.1 and 6.7 inches, respectively.

The lists below will hopefully make things a bit clearer. As is usual for reports like this, things can change between now and the releases of both the iPhone 16 lineup and the iPhone 17 lineup.
