Still Yearning For More Ted Lasso? There Might Still be Hope!

Are you one of those Ted Lasso fans who felt the show ended before its time and would love to see more action from the AFC Richmond team? Well, there may be hope for a fourth season of “Ted” or at least a spinoff of some sort.

There have been hints that more fun with the Lasso crew could be on tap, as there have been comments from certain parties teasing another season or a spinoff. Nick Mohammed, who played former AFC Richmond kit man Nathan Shelley, has teased Lasso fans that a fourth season could be in the works. He has also teased that the “complete” Ted Lasso boxset isn’t quite complete. Plus, just many of the former Lasso cast have expressed hope for another season or two or for a first season of a spinoff.

Things are looking up for chances for more Lasso, as Channing Dungey, the chairman and CEO of Warner Bros Television Group, was interviewed this week by Deadline and commented about Ted Lasso.

When Dungey was asked about a fourth season or spinoff from Ted Lasso, she replied:

“We’ve had conversations about all of the above. I think Jason Sudeikis is open to the idea, but I think he wants to have the right idea, which I appreciate it. We at Warner Bros appreciate, Apple appreciates, because it’s the sort of thing where you don’t want to go do more, just for the sake of more, you want to go do more, because you actually have something to say, you have a story that you want to tell. We’ll see what happens.”

There are several possibilities for a Ted Lasso-related series. One I’ve heard multiple times is a spinoff focused on the characters of Keeley Jones and/or Rebecca Welton. The end of season three laid the groundwork for such a spinoff, thanks to the duo’s teaming up to found a women’s AFC Richmond team. I’m a big fan of both characters, and I’d watch that. How about you?
