iOS 18.4 Beta No longer Available Across Entire iPhone 12 Lineup

Apple on Friday seeded the betas of iOS 18.4 and iPadOS 18.4 to developers for testing, although the Cupertino firm has pulled the updates for some iPhones and iPads due to “boot loop” issues.

As reported by MacRumors, the first iOS 18.4 and iPadOS 18.4 betas are no longer available for installation on any of the iPhone 12 mini, iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro, or iPhone 12 Pro Max models, along with select older iPad Air and entry-level iPad models. The removal of the update for these devices was first noticed by Aaron Perris.

The report says the first iOS 18.4 beta was causing some iPhone 12 models and other affected devices to experience a “boot loop,” rendering the device unusable. There may have also been other issues affecting some of the cellular iPad Air models in particular, rather than the boot loop problem.

Apple has also pulled the first beta of watchOS 11.4 for Apple Watch Series 6 models.

Apple should soon make changes in the iOS 18.4, iPadOS 18.4,  and watchOS 11.4 betas available again for the affected devices, but no firm re-release date has been announced.
